18 Channel Slipring

Multi-Channel Electromechanical Slipring for Power and Signal Transmission in Defence and Aerospace Rotating Systems

The System Controls 18 Channel Slipring is an electromechanical slipring that enables simultaneous transmission of electrical power and signals from a stationary to a rotating structure across 18 independent channels. Rated at 48V DC with 10A on power channels and 0.5A on communication channels, it supports continuous operation at 50 RPM and a maximum of 100 RPM across a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C in a Dia 106mm x 180mm assembly. Suited to defence radar antennas, aerospace equipment, robotics and control systems requiring uninterrupted power and signal continuity during continuous rotation.

About the Product

What is the
F18 Channel Slipring?

Sliprings, also called rotary electrical joints, collectors or electric swivels, are electromechanical devices that allow the transmission of power and electrical signals from a stationary to a rotating structure. The System Controls 18 Channel Slipring provides 18 independent channels across a single rotating interface, with differentiated current ratings for power and communication channels: 10A on power channels for platform and payload power supply and 0.5A on communication channels for data and control signals. It supports continuous operation at 50 RPM with a maximum speed of 100 RPM, across a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C, in a compact Dia 106mm x 180mm assembly suited to defence, aerospace and industrial rotating system integration.

18 Channels for Simultaneous Power and Signal Transmission

The 18-channel configuration enables simultaneous transmission of both power and communication signals across the same rotating interface, with differentiated current ratings optimised for each function: 10A for power channels supplying platform and payload electrical power and 0.5A for communication channels carrying control, data and video signals. This combined power and signal capability in a single slipring assembly simplifies the rotating interface architecture of defence radar and aerospace rotating systems.

02

100 RPM Maximum Speed

Support for continuous operation at 50 RPM and a maximum of 100 RPM accommodates radar antennas and other defence rotating systems operating at higher rotation rates. The continuous speed rating ensures reliable electrical performance without contact degradation throughout sustained high-rate rotation cycles, making the 18 Channel Slipring suitable for faster scanning radar and surveillance antenna applications.

03

48V DC for Defence Platform Compatibility

The 48V DC voltage rating covers the supply voltage range used across a wide range of defence radar, aerospace and industrial rotating systems. The 10A power channel current rating provides sufficient power transfer capacity for defence platform payload power requirements through the rotary interface without requiring additional power distribution hardware at the rotating assembly.

04

Wide Temperature Range for Defence Deployment

The -20°C to +60°C operating temperature range covers the environmental conditions encountered by defence radar and aerospace rotating systems deployed across India's diverse climate zones, from cold high-altitude border surveillance installations to hot coastal and desert radar deployments, without requiring additional thermal management measures.

Slipring transfers electrical power and signals via sliding contacts. Rotary joint transfers RF signals or fluids via non-contact or sealed mechanical coupling. Both often integrated together in radar rotary interface assemblies.
