Delivering 50mm stroke with 800N thrust, 0.5mm free play and a self-locking mechanism for intermediate position hold without power, it operates on 24 VDC with PWM signal control and provides position feedback for closed-loop system integration. Built from aluminium alloy at 1.1 kg and 164 x 90 x 60 mm, with a drive unit supplied separately, the EMLA-50 is engineered for reliable, repeatable linear actuation in demanding defence platform environments.

EMLA-50?

The EMLA-50 is a highly customised compact linear actuator for high thrust linear motion in pedestal and positioning system applications. The unit is configured with a quill, barrel and drive unit incorporating a suitable motor, gearbox and brake in a single compact assembly. Built-in electronics sense the end positions via limit switches and enable self-locking at any intermediate position, eliminating the need for continuous power to maintain position. Position feedback is available for closed-loop control system integration. A separate drive unit is supplied for driving the linear actuator, accepting a PWM input signal for precise speed and position control. Constructed from aluminium alloy for low weight and high durability, the EMLA-50 delivers 50mm of high thrust linear motion in a 164 x 90 x 60mm package weighing just 1.1 kg.

Built-In End Sensing via Limit Switches

Combined with the self-locking intermediate position capability, this built-in end sensing provides complete travel management without requiring external position sensing hardware.

The integrated self-locking mechanism holds the actuator at any commanded intermediate position without requiring continuous power, ensuring the payload remains securely positioned during power interruptions or standby states.
