Pan & Tilt Unit 10 kg?

The Pan and Tilt Unit 10 kg is a compact, rugged two-axis positioner in elevation over azimuth configuration, designed to rigidly mount and precisely control surveillance sensor payloads in both pan and tilt axes. The pan axis is a continuously rotating system with zero backlash, a DC motor with encoder and precision gear trains for position and rate control. A high precision encoder on each motor shaft provides position feedback to the motion controller.

Continuous 360-Degree Pan with Integrated Slip Ring

The pan axis delivers N x 360° continuous rotation via an integrated slip ring, enabling uninterrupted surveillance coverage across the full azimuth without cable wind-up or rotation limits. Zero backlash precision gear trains and a DC motor with encoder provide accurate, repeatable pan positioning at speeds from 0.008°/sec to 120°/sec across the full range.

Flexible Multi-Payload Mounting Architecture

The PTU supports top mount and dual side mount payload configurations using dedicated adapters, enabling simultaneous mounting of multiple sensors including visible cameras, thermal imagers and other electro-optical payloads. One top and two side payload mounting brackets are supplied as standard, with custom configurations available as per requirement.

Wide Speed Range for Surveillance and Tracking

Both pan and tilt axes cover a speed range from 0.008°/sec to 120°/sec, providing the slow, precise scan rates needed for area surveillance and the fast slew rates required for target tracking and rapid sensor repositioning. Speed, position and acceleration are all precisely controlled through the integrated motion controller and digital encoder feedback.

Multiple Communication Interfaces and GUI Control

The PTU supports RS232, RS485, RS422 and Ethernet communication interfaces, enabling direct integration with a wide range of host processors and command systems. A Windows 7/8.1/10 GUI and a rugged joystick controller with PTU controller are supplied as standard, providing both software and manual control options for field operators.

The PTU delivers N x 360° continuous pan rotation via integrated slip ring and a tilt range of plus 30° to minus 90°. Both ranges are programmable with speeds from 0.008°/sec to 120°/sec and 0.002° resolution on both axes.

The PTU carries a maximum payload of 10 kg using top mount, dual side mount or a combination using dedicated adapters. One top and two side payload mounting brackets are supplied as standard or configured as per customer requirement.

The PTU supports RS232, RS485, RS422 and Ethernet. A Windows 7/8.1/10 GUI and rugged joystick controller with PTU controller are included as standard for both software and manual field operation.

The PTU carries IP65 ingress protection and is JSS 55555 compliant, making it suitable for sustained outdoor surveillance deployments in dusty, wet and demanding field environments.

A heavy duty aluminium tripod is supplied with 200 kg load capacity, 10 kg weight, height adjustable from 720 mm to 1300 mm, two stages, swiveling feet, spirit level bubble indicator and mid level spreader. JSS 55555 compliant.

The PTU is constructed from Aluminium Alloy 6061-T6 with paint or powder coating finish, providing a lightweight, corrosion-resistant structure for sustained outdoor field deployment.
